EL PASO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, EL
PASO, TEXAS
AIA evaluated the existing retention
pond located on airport property which receives all collected storm water
currently through “sheet flow” for the region around the
airport. Analyzed the capacity of
the existing pond for 100 year storm and recommended additional
capacity. Prepared design for a
larger and deeper retention facility.
Designed rehab of the existing concrete channel lining and flume at
the entrance to the pond due to an underground storm sewer system proposed
along Carnegie Avenue. Designed netting for the detention
pond along with supports, to keep the birds from nesting in the area. Designed storm sewer manholes and
outfall to prevent any intruders from using the system for entry into airport
property.

BRIDGE, HOUSTON,

Design and plan
preparation for the bus flyover bridge at Bush
Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
Bridge was 660’ in span length, was made of 4 continuous spans,
160’-240’-160’-100’, steel curved box girder bridge.
Responsible for load calculations, design and rebar detailing of abutments,
slab, girders, bent columns and caps, foundations, and calculation of total
quantities.

AIRPORT AVIATION FUEL COMPLEX - HOUSTON,
TEXAS
Provided the field inspection associated with the
expansion construction of the fuel complex. Responsible for coordination
between client, contractor and engineering disciplines to insure accurate
implementation of the design effort during all phases of construction.
AUSTIN BERGSTROM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT -
AUSTIN, TEXAS
Midfield Cross Taxiway designs; work included
traffic studies for improvements on Air Force Base and new airport areas,
traffic control plans, traffic signal plans and necessary signing and
pavement marking; staging, phasing and design of demolition of existing AFB
buildings, pavements, utilities in project area and rerouting utilities.
Prepared roadway design for AFB buildings in service; pavement design and
grading, earthwork and storm sewer design.

Work included temporary signal designs, estimations and specifications.

RECONSTRUCTION OF RUNWAYS 16-34 STEWART INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT, NEW WINDSOR, NEW YORK
Survey for the design of the Reconstruction of
Runways 16-34 and Taxiways A, B, and C, and a proposed parallel taxiway at
the Airport in New Windsor, New York for the New York State Department of
Transportation. The information was compiled and produced on Auto-CAD.
Following completion of the design work, AIA performed the construction
layout for the contractor constructing the improvements.
RBORO AIRPORT RUNWAY
SURVEY, TETERBORO, NEW JERSEY
Field survey for Runways 1-19 and 6-24 at Teterboro Airport
for the Port Authority of New York and New
Jersey. Project entailed the establishment of
survey controls and baselines, locating all airport appurtenances including
runway lights, paved areas of the runways and taxiways, reflectors, signage,
drainage, utilities and wetlands. All of the field work that was performed
had to be coordinated with the airport control tower and in cooperation with
airport operations. The information was completed on Auto-CAD and utilized to
develop detailed plans for improvements to expand and upgrade the airport.
LINCOLN PARK AIRPORT,
NEW JERSEY
Soils testing, geo-technical investigation
and pavement design for the reconstruction of runway I-19 at the airport in Lincoln Park, New
Jersey. Runway is in a Wetlands area.
SPECTRUM HELIPORT,
RIDGEFIELD PARK, NEW JERSEY
Survey and site plan for improvements to
Heliport along Berry's Creek in Ridgefield Park, New
Jersey. Survey included pier and bulkhead line delineation
with Riparian Claims and Grants.
ESSEX COUNTY AIRPORT,
FAIRFIELD, NEW JERSEY
Testing of material, including asphalt,
concrete and soil for the expansion and improvement of runways and taxiways
at Essex County Airport,
per FAA requirements.
