construction of three independently suspended covered shelters over new
pedestrian waiting platform areas with standing seam metal roofs, soffits,
fascia and gutters, lighting, columns and bell bottom piers. New storm sewer and sanitary sewer
system with manholes. New construction of CMU block utility building with
separate rooms for electrical and SC&C, standing seam metal roof, soffit,
fascia and gutters, beams piers and pads, electrical panels, circuitry panels.
New construction of handicap
accessible restrooms with card reader for METRO bus drivers, HVAC, plumbing
and electrical wiring CMU block construction, tile work, standing seams metal
roof, fascia, soffit and gutter.
New construction of multiple driveways sidewalks, handicap ramps,
landscaping, and site work. Tasks
include scheduling, coordinating activities between contractor, lab and
METRO, quality control, progress meetings, reviewing shop drawing, checking plans
for quantities and errors, providing design assistance as needed, scheduling,
and QA/QC. Worked in conjunction
with City Inspectors, permits and permitted plans. New
construction of a 6,000 sq. foot community activities center. Project included construction of new
handicap accessible restrooms, offices, kitchen, storage rooms, utility room
and large activity room. New
construction consisted of piers and beam form building pad, steel frame
construction, CMU blocks with split faced CUM and custom brick work, new
HVAC, all new plumbing and electrical construction, and standing seam metal
roof. Construction Management
responsibilities included supervising and coordinating subcontractors to
maintain compliance with plans and specifications. BELLAIRE
QUICKLINE PROJECT - METRO As
resident Engineer, coordinated the Construction of the Bellaire Quickline
Project. This project was a $1.7
million construction of a new bus route.
The project included the construction of a new bus shelters and the installation
of an ITS system. The ITS system
includes pavement lighting, warning devices, and a GPS locator system. Duties included attending progress
meetings, preparing project construction files, reviewing submittals,
reviewing change orders and design/construction coordination. METRONet
PHASE 3B & 4 - METRO Resident
Engineer for the final construction of the METRO Net project. This project was a $19 million
construction of a wireless video and security surveillance system at all
Metro Park & Rides. The work
consisted of the installation of all electronic equipment needed to operate
the system wireless from the METRO offices; installation of security gates,
emergency telephones, and air conditioned enclosed areas. Duties included attending progress
meetings, preparing project construction files, reviewing submittals,
reviewing change orders, reviewing contractor’s invoices, and
design/construction coordination. New
building construction and renovation to existing park building. Project
included demolishing and remodeling of existing structure with additional
handicap facilities. New
construction of handicap accessible restroom, office spaces and kitchen. Remodel of existing activities room
with the addition of sound proofing panels. Demolish existing HVAC including duct
work and replace with high efficiency unit and ducts. Replace old roof with new weather
proofing membrane and Spanish tile.
Project also included new parking, sidewalk, handicap ramps and patio. Responsible for the supervision of
renovations and additions that included site work, underground utility work,
landscape, carpentry, millwork, concrete, sidewalks, new building, plaza, and
foundation. PARKING
GARAGE, Supervised
construction of a 4-level parking garage that included an extensive drainage
system enclosed overhead sidewalk, landscaping, and an adjacent 8500-SF
concrete paved and curbed parking lot. SAM
HOUSTON TOLLWAY (BELTWAY 8) – TxDOT HOUSTON DISTRICT Performed
construction inspection and assisted resident engineer with management duties
for 18 months on two sections of BW 8 from SH
36 - TxDOT HOUSTON DISTRICT Performed
construction inspection tasks and served as assistant resident engineer for
18 months for reconstruction from a two-lane rural to a five-lane curb and
gutter section roadway. Limits
extended from US 59 to Ave M in Responsible
for construction management and inspection services for the construction of
the new transit shelter and related facilities, shop drawing review, checking
plans for quantities and errors, providing design assistance on an as-needed
basis, scheduling, and quality control. METRO
CONSTRUCTION OF AIA
Project Manager responsible for consulting, coordination, management,
technical, supervisory and inspection services. Performed
construction phase service for 31,000 LF of waterline improvements. Completed
progress reports, coordinated between City of CONSTRUCTION
Worked as
Resident/Site Engineer for 180 Km-long Contract No. 2 of the World
Bank-Assisted Project for Rehabilitation of National Highway No. 1. The project
included new design and rehabilitation of 120 culverts and small bridges as
well as realignment and overlay of the roadway. Consultants were responsible
for approval of all contractors’ design/shop drawings. CONSTRUCTION
MANAGEMENT FOR THE NEW As the
Project Field Engineer for the Transportation Construction Group at Jubail,
responsibilities included supervision of all bridge, interchange and airport
construction by subcontractors. With a staff of approximately 20 Field Engineers
and Inspectors all cost estimates, shop drawings, and equipment/material
submittals were reviewed and processed for as many as 35 active highway and
site development contracts. As a
Senior Construction Engineer CM responsibilities involved runway paving,
large diameter caisson foundations and erection of heavy, long span steel
trusses and welded plate girders for American Airlines hanger. PREMCOR
REFINERY – As Project
/Resident Engineer, coordinated the field activities for 8 remediation sites
in a working refinery. The
remediation areas required waste material to be cement stabilized, graded and
capped with a soil cover. This
work also involved installation of piping, mechanical fittings, pumps, and
related work for a temporary drainage system. These projects required
extensive engineering and construction coordination due to the limited
knowledge of the underground conditions.
Final construction reports were sent to TNRCC and included detailed
information on material testing, construction techniques, and any changes
that occurred to the original design. US90A
& SH 6 - TxDOT HOUSTON DISTRICT As Project
Engineer, coordinated the construction services for a 3-mile, $35 million urban
street reconstruction project. The project consisted of constructing bridges,
retaining walls, storm sewer, concrete pavement, utilities and traffic
control. Duties included
attending progress meetings, preparing project construction files, submittal
review, evaluating changes requested by the contractor, processing change
orders, quantity take offs and design/construction coordination. IH-10
DAIRY ASHFORD TO Project
Engineer for Traffic Control for this 2 mile, $83 million freeway
reconstruction. Duties included
attending progress meetings, preparing project construction files, submittal
review, evaluating changes request by the contractor, processing change
orders, quantity take offs and design/construction coordination. FM
1488 FM 2978 to SH 242 - TxDOT HOUSTON DISTRICT As Project
Engineer, coordinated the construction services for a 4-mile, $20 million
widening of a non freeway facility. The project consisted of constructing
storm sewer, concrete pavement, utilities and traffic control. Duties included attending progress
meetings, preparing project construction files, submittal review, evaluating
changes requested by the contractor, processing change orders, quantity take
offs and design/construction coordination. Supervised
construction of 20-story headquarters building for BCIC. Work included
foundation, cast-in-place piles, retaining walls, superstructure,
construction of ground floor with waffle slabs, auditorium, elevators,
plumbing, sanitary sewer, and parking lots with illumination. KARNOFULY
PAPER MILLS, Ltd. Construction
Manager for the construction of multi-storied residential buildings and
parking areas, approach roadways and bridge. Responsible for oversight of the
repair and maintenance of boiler restructuring. Construction
management and inspection services for bridge replacement along SOUTH
CENTRAL POLICE STATION REPLACEMENT, Performed
field inspection of demolition and construction of replacement facilities for
the South Central Police Station.
