TUNNELS

LINCOLN TUNNEL, NEW YORK & NEW JERSEY
Biennial Inspection of the New York approaches and the Helix at the New Jersey approaches of the Lincoln Tunnel. Project included structural inspection and preparation of reports for six bridges and three approach tunnels and also included inspection of tunnel sign structures.

PATH SUBWAY TUNNEL INSPECTION, NEW YORK & NEW JERSEY
Inspection of the running tunnels carrying the PATH transit system between New York and New Jersey.

 

DAMS

APSHAWA MAIN AND AUXILIARY DAMS, WEST MILFORD, NJ
Engineering inspection and rehabilitation design of the dams impounding Butler Reservoir for the County of Passaic. The project entailed geotechnical testing and investigations utilizing state of the arttomography, the first time this medium had been used to test a multi-medium structure (concrete, rockfill, and earth), field survey,  engineering inspection, wetlands delineation, hydraulic studies and subaqueous inspection. A detailed technical report was prepared to discuss the findings conforming to the New Jersey Dam Safety Manual requirements. A subaqueous inspection was performed by AIA Dive teams to evaluate for the presence of undermining, see page scour and the integrity of foundation integrity. Design and construction plans and specifications were prepared to rehabilitate the existing dams and bring the spillways up into conformity with NJDEPE and New Jersey Dam Safety Manual requirements. Construction inspection will be provided upon commencement of the construction of the improvements.

CHEROKEE LAKE DAM REHABILITATION, VA
The inspection, evaluation, soil testing, design of improvements and construction supervision for this flood damaged dam for the City of Richmond. This dam was a part of a 160-acre impounded lake used for recreation by the residential subdivision. Work included dam safety evaluation, hydrology, flood routing using SCS unit hydrograph method, hydraulics of principal and emergency spillways, stability analysis using slip circle, and construction supervision.

HEADLEY'S POND DAM, VA
Structural inspection and investigation of early non-federal ice house dam to determine its potential for rehabilitation and make recommendations and cost estimates of repairs for prospective purchaser.

PASSAIC COUNTY COURTHOUSE WATERPROOFING, PATERSON, NJ
Design and inspection of waterproofing and structural repairs to the Plaza Deck at the new Courthouse in Paterson, New Jersey.

PASSAIC COUNTY COURTHOUSE ROOF REPLACEMENT, PATERSON, NJ
Design and construction inspection of new roof installation at the Courthouse in Paterson, NJ.

WATERSIDE PLAZA APARTMENTS, MANHATTAN, NY
Underwater inspection of piles supporting multi-story apartment structure along the East River in lower Manhattan.

WEIGHTS AND MEASURES BUILDING, WAYNE, NJ
Structural investigation for the replacement of the roof on former U S Army building converted into Passaic County offices.

LEONIA POLICE HEADQUARTERS, LEONIA, NJ
Structural evaluation and design of plans, specifications and bid documents for the improvements to the Leonia Police Department headquarters including design of new detention jail cells.

HACKENSACK MEDICAL CENTER, HACKENSACK, NJ
Seismic monitoring and report to determine the impact of blasting for new construction upon the operating rooms in major Bergen County health care facility.

PREAKNESS HOSPITAL, PREAKNESS, NJ
Seismic monitoring to determine if blasting at an adjacent quarry caused structural damage to the hospital administration building or if the damage resulted from faulty  construction.
