An often underrated profession, land surveying plays a vital part in any
engineering project. Accurate measurements and mapping provide the design
professional with the tools needed to prepare plans and construction documents.
AIA can provide a full range of surveying services on a variety of projects such as highways, bridges, airports, railroads, treatment plants, commercial, subdivision and private developments. Our surveyors obtain field measurements with the complete stations and data collectors, and develop all required mapping utilizing civil software (Eagle Point/DCA) and computer aided drafting programs (AUTOCAD and Microstation). AIA also works with aerial photogrammetry professionals when aerial photography is required on a project.
AIA maintains multiple in-house field survey crews led by a full-time New York and New Jersey State Licensed land surveyor. Surveying capabilities are enhanced by the use of state of the art GPS equipment and fully electronic total stations which allow our survey teams to work in conjunction with our in-house CAD system to create a comprehensive network of technology. The survey teams are experienced in all aspects of field survey including: establishing baseline and vertical control, gathering topographic features, providing utility surveys, location boundary lines, and performing the construction layout. Furthermore, all members are experienced in working safely in heavy traffic and in deploying necessary traffic control measures.
AIA employs State of the art Computer technology to produce Computer Aided Design Files, utilizing both AutoCad (rel. 10 thru 13) and Intergraph Micro Station (4 x) software. Current equipment consists of Pentium server class machines with adequate processing power. Associated peripherals include Digitizing Tablets, laser printers, and pen plotters. AIA is capable of producing hard copy in sizes from 8.5" X 11" to 42" X 120".
