Topographic
survey of t he western section of Staten Island, New York for the New York
City Department o f Environmental Protection for use in connection with their
on-going water pollution control projects in that Borough. The project
involved aerial topogrametrical surveys, establishing ground control targets
and tying the targets into the United
States Coast
and Geodetic datum. The project area contained approximately 18 square miles.

construction of new firehouse and ambulance facilities in Clifton, New Jersey.
PENN STATION REHABILITATION
DESIGN AND IMPROVEMENTS, NEW YORK, NEW
YORK
Location survey at PENN STATION in New York City for NJ
Transit. This project entailed locating topographic features on four levels,
from street level to track level below AMTRA K and tying the different levels
together. Work included locating rail tracks, third rails, train platforms,
stairs, escalators, elevators, stores, utilities ( both in the pipe corridor
and under the platforms), floor and ceiling elevations , concourses and
structural members. This information, compiled and prepared on Auto-Cadd was
used to develop plans and specifications for the rehabilitation design and
concourse improvements including a new station entrance on Seventh
Avenue.
OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR
GENERATING PLANT, NEW JERSEY
Multi-plane survey to layout core boring locations
for cathodic protection insertion through the concrete sheer wall surrounding
the nuclear reactor. Project involved drilling through an 8 foot thick
concrete wall into an existing sandbed around the reactor, at the Forked River power plant.

EVALUATION STUDY, HUDSON & BERGEN COUNTIES, NJ & ROCK LAND CNTY, NY
Field survey, property boundary analysis and
mapping for the West Shore Line Evaluation Study in northeastern New Jersey and
southeastern New York for NJ Transit. Project entails field surveys for
selected design data collection involving bridges, drainage and railroad
appurtenances, compiling information for a utility easement study and report,
preparation of drawings and conceptual cost estimates.

Survey for structural analysis
of incinerator facilities in Brooklyn, New York, operated by the Department of Sanitation of
the City of New York.
RAIL EQUIPMENT
MAINTENANCE FACILITY, KEARNY, NEW JERSEY
Contract surveyors for the construction of
major railroad maintenance facility for NJ Transit. Work entailed the
establishment of survey controls and baselines, the layout of the railroad
maintenance building, the locomotive roundhouse, a passerell and various
appurtenances. AIA also laid out and monitored the piles during pile driving operations,
performed the check survey for the anchor bolts and steel location,
monitoring for settlement of the locomotive roundhouse building during the
construction project.

Route 287 in Riverdale, New Jersey. Project involved removal of
over 300,000 c.y. of rock excavation, construction of a temporary by-pass
tunnel to carry relocated Route 23 over the construction site and
construction of seven structures.

Survey for structural analysis of the
garbage loading facilities at working incinerator plant in Queens, New York,
for the New York City Department of Sanitation. Project involved critical
timing as the plant could have a partial shut down one time only, over a
weekend.

Survey for the design of the reconstruction of
Runways 16-34 and Taxiway s A, B, and C and a proposed parallel taxiway at

Transportation. The information was compiled and produced on Auto-CADD. Following
completion of the design work, AIA performed the construction layout for the
contractor constructing the improvements.
