Bigler Structural Foundations, AIA is currently performing structural design for foundations for 2 boilers, blowers, 100 foot tall vertical stack, at grade storage tanks, silencers, duct works, economizers, pipe racks and other miscellaneous equipment. AIA reviewed geotechnical report, performed a site visit, coordinated locations of existing concrete foundations to determine conflicts with proposed construction, assisted client in coordination for civil works for this project. Project is being completed on a fast track. Gulf LNG Clean Energy Project, Performed analysis, design and checking of N-S and E-W piperack, piperack BOG and vaporizer, LNG tank structures-platforms & stair landings, misc. pipe support, pipe bridge, sendout structure, connection and anchor design. Redesigned structures in conformation to Chinese GB codes and shapes (structures designed using Staad 2006). Prepared technical bid package, specifications, scope of work, and steel takeoffs. Performed technical bid analysis to select successful bidders. Reviewed design of a surge protection wall for installation of 15’ light poles on top. Recommended additional rebars needed to install the pole foundation. Cameron LNG Project, Performed analysis and design for mounting
20’ high CLNG radio tower on existing powerhouse piperack. Analyzed
base plate connection details. Prepared support mechanism to install the
radio tower on the piperack. Analyzed and reviewed stress ratios of an
existing piperack design by lowering wind loads from 183-mph to 40-mph for
fireproofing steel design. Calculated siltation rates of a channel in the
jetty area utilizing survey data using Autocad. Prepared dredging quantity
needed at the time, and at a later date upon project completion, utilizing
proposed siltation rates. DANA GAS – Cresent
Petroleum Khor Mor LPG Recovery Unit AIA designed and checked approximately 80
foundations for various equipments in the facility. AIA’s role involves
checking foundations for size and details, checking for conflicts with other
foundations and equipment and providing detailing services. Equipment
included compressors, condensers, vertical stack, at grade storage tanks,
compressor building and pipe racks. Design Verification for 13-15 Stack BOP Spare Work Platform - Design verification
for various components using ANSYS and STAAD PRO for Blow Off Preventors. 3
platform connections at 3 different levels were modeled and analyzed for
various load conditions. AIA provided recommendations for simplified
connections and resolved conflicts between various components and
connections. AIA also provided recommendations for worker safety for
personnel working on the BOP platforms. Structural Evaluation for New CNG Facility - Structural
evaluation for new CNG facility over existing pavement. Pavement was
installed in the 90's, has been used as a bus terminal and parking and has
been accessed by trucks loaded up to 80,000Ib. Performed examination of the existing site
pavement within the CNG Plant footprint and provided a brief report on the
suitability of this pavement to anchor several equipment pads as an anchorage
substrate to include strength, integrity, and incidence of joints and how
they will affect any new foundation pads that will span over them, prepared
design calculations for foundation pad for various machineries, pier cap for
Compressor building, Canopy #1 & 2 verifying flexure, punching shear and
beam shear, reviewed helical pier design for Compressor building, Canopy #1
& 2, followed IBC2003 code to calculate load combinations and ACI-318-02
for design of foundations. CNG plant layout, Toreador, South Akcakoca Basin, AIA was
responsible for the design of roadway, turnarounds, drainage, foundation
design for pipe racks, pigging manifolds, above ground storage tanks, as well
as small buildings and miscellaneous equipment. Designed a retaining wall
that would prevent flooding of the site due to a nearby hill and river. Alba Field Development, Phase I of this project included a 10MW
power generation unit and expansion of the existing oil and gas facility.
Plant included gas-driven turbine generators, gas compressors, MMC control
room, switchgear, PLC control, transformers and utility systems. AIA
personnel assisted in the Site development, grading, drainage, foundation
design, layout and design for roadway, earthwork and pipe rack foundations
and identification of conflicts. WAHA Well, Engineering services for Site layout,
drainage, grading plans for oil and gas facility in Wind Load Analysis for
Extruder Structure, Particle Drilling Technologies Performed Wind analysis for extruder
Structure for various wind loads in different regions. Provided
recommendations for stability of the structure for various different regions
based on wind speeds. AIA performed bridge
load rating for Railroad and Roadway timber bridges over Chocolate Bayou at
Solutia Plant Entrance. Railroad bridge was load rated for Cooper E80 loading
and roadway bridge was rated for AASHTO HS20 loading. The load rating was
conducted for timber stringers, caps and piles on the existing bridge to
carry heavy loads anticipated by the client. Aerial Pipe crossings,
Restrained Joints, Pipe Design, Tunnel Casing and Liner Plates Designed several aerial steel pipe
crossings for 16" to 36" waterlines with spans ranging from 30 feet
to 55 feet. Performed restrained joint analysis for 24" and 42"
waterlines and designed Tunnel casings and liner plates for 62" tunnel
at 16 foot depth for the Surface Water Transmission Program. Leedale & Leitrim Lift Station, Design and plan preparation associated with
2 - three pump lift stations, one with 21 foot inside diameter and 25 foot
depth and the other with 16 foot inside diameter and a depth of 37 feet. Also
designed a ringwall foundation for a 47 foot diameter, 28 foot high
steel tank. Design of Structural Steel
Cofferdam for depth of 40 feet of water for bridge foundation construction in
This project was for
construction of cofferdams around the main piers of |
